Haut-Brion was clearly outperformed by its neighbor, La Mission-Haut-Brion in this poor vintage. This wine is medium ruby, with an aromatic, spicy, somewhat vegetal aroma, and lightish flavors with some harshness in the finish. This wine is best drunk up over the next 5 years. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 9/83.
