Description
Gramolere is a cru in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, situated between Gavarini and Bussia. Its structure and character are considered synonymous with the Barolo of Monforte. Alongside these characteristics, the wine from this particular hillside expresses delicate scents of aromatic herbs that blend with classic and complex notes of leather and liquorice.
Tasting notes

The 2022 Barolo Gramolere is another impressive wine from Vittore Alessandria. Dark-toned fruit, graphite, incense, sage, mint and pine are all beautifully lifted in the glass. This potent, muscular Monforte Barolo is so distinctive. I can't wait to taste it in bottle.

The Fratelli Alessandria 2022 Barolo Gramolere shows greater intensity and depth with aromas of cassis, pencil shaving and lavender essence. Sourced from a higher-elevation vineyard in Monforte d'Alba with calcareous, sandier soils than the estate's holdings in Verduno, this wine delivers more structure, mineral definition and fruit concentration while maintaining an elegant frame. The mouthfeel remains medium-lean but gains momentum with a pleasing interplay of sweet fruit and savory salinity that carries through the finish. First produced in 2001, the Gramolere holdings come from the Manzone (or the mother's) side of the family in Monforte d'Alba, and production totals 6,000 bottles.
