Compared directly with the Richebourg from DRC, the DRC wins out. Much less intensity on the nose, with a slight tinny scent. Cherry, a touch of burnt toast developing then fresh tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with moderate complexity, though lacking some harmony and vigour. Compared to the DRC this is more angular and a little tart Drink soon. Drinking 2007-2010. Tasted November 2006.

The lovely 1989 Richebourg appears to be one of the rare wines from its vintage to still have the capacity to age and ameliorate. It possesses a medium-to-dark ruby and amber color, as well as dense dark berry and caramelized aromas. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied and offers loads of sweet red cherry, plum, black pepper, juniper berry, and spice. Broad, well-structured, and velvety-textured, it also has an exceptionally long and flavorful finish. Drink it over the next 6-7 years.

Lehua is a top-level famous chateau in Burgundy. It has been able to compete with another top-level chateau in Burgundy, DRC, in just over 30 years since its establishment. Le Hua's products have always been valuable in the market. They have long been frequent buyers of Sotheby's wine auctions, and they are also the dream products of many wine collectors. The vineyards owned by Leroy are distributed in 26 legal production areas, subdivided into 46 sub-vineyards, with a total area of 22 hectares. The annual output of omaine Leroy wines of all levels is only 35,000 to 45,000 bottles.
