Tasting notes

Narrowly constructed as well as short and herbal, this medium-bodied wine reveals decent black cherry and berry fruit as well as a dusty, earthy herbaceous character.

The Camensac has a well-defined bouquet with light raspberry, fresh strawberry and cedar aromas. The oak is judiciously applied. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dry, slightly obtrusive tannins at this stage. It feels firm and masculine in the mouth with strong undergrowth and tobacco notes towards the finish. This is a decent Claret destined for drinking within its first ten years. Tasted April 2013.

Deep ruby/purple with firm tannins and a nice meaty, spiciness, this wine shows slight narrowness and astringency, but it is well-made and certainly above-average. Drink it over the next decade.
