The 2001 is a savory, ripe, medium-bodied offering with plenty of flesh and up-front charm. It possesses a saturated deep ruby color, copious quantities of black cherry fruit, medium body, and a soft, succulent finish. Consume this hedonistic, charming, mid-weight Pomerol during its first 8-10 years of life.

The ’01 de Sales has an earthy bouquet with touches of leather, a little violet and graphite. It displays moderate definition and lift. The palate is medium-bodied, quite dry and leafy on the mid-palate, firm tannins with a masculine with a foursquare finish. Medium-length. Tasted December 2010.

The 2001, though not a blockbuster, is a savory, ripe, medium-bodied offering with plenty of flesh and up-front charm. It possesses a saturated deep ruby color, copious quantities of black cherry fruit, medium body, and a soft, succulent finish. This Pomerol estate has been producing increasingly better wines over the last few years. Consume this hedonistic, totally charming, mid-weight Pomerol during its first 8-10 years of life.

This property, the largest vineyard in Pomerol, has been coming on strong over recent vintages. Soft, caramel-infused cherry candy-like aromas jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged, hedonistic 2001. Plush, with good expansiveness, sweetness, and a sexy, up-front, opulent personality, it is meant to be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years.
