Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Monica Larner
The Luciano Sandrone 2022 Dolcetto d'Alba has earthy notes with musky iris root, autumnal leaf and wet underbrush. There is some astringency from the stems and skins, and you feel the rawness of the winemaking in a simple entry-level red such as this. The wine ferments in stainless steel and ages in the bottle for three months before its release. Production is 30,000 bottles.

The 2022 Dolcetto d'Alba is a soft, fruity delicate wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Floral top notes lend freshness. In 2022, the Sandrone Dolcetto is on the lighter side.
