Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Neal Martin
The 2024 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a tightly wound bouquet. I find more tension and precision on the Les Champans at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, the fruit equidistant between red and black, with touches of dark chocolate and espresso in the background towards the finish. Good length; I would just like to see a bit more nervosité come through on the finish. But still a fine Volnay for mid-term drinking.
