The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru has an exquisite bouquet: black cherries, hints of blueberry, violet and iris flower that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of dark chocolate on the entry, a fine bead of acidity, quite lush in style yet it retains control from start to finish. Fine mineralité comes through with time. Too often undervalued by cognoscenti, this is a wonderful Echézeaux.

The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's Pinot Noir harvest concluded on 11-12 September with the 2022 Échézeaux Grand Cru, a fleshy and expressive wine that bursts with aromas of sweet dark berries and cherries mingled with notions of incense, orange zest, exotic spices and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, ripe and flamboyant, with a layered, juicy core of fruit, it concludes with a broad, sapid finish.
