(aged in 75% new oak): Good deep red. Musky, deep aromas of raspberry, chocolate and nutty oak. A step up in intensity and definition from the basic cuvee, with sweet red fruit and cocoa powder flavors complemented by burnished wood tones. Lovely energy for such a broad wine. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins. Today I find this more vibrant than the 2012 version.

Bright, dark red. Darker and more liqueur-like on the nose than the cuvee classique, offering aromas of black fruits, chocolate and mocha. Very ripe and rich, with the chocolatey quality carrying through on the palate. This savory wine has more of everything than the basic cuvee but is more reserved today. A note of cocoa may be due to dry stems from late-picked fruit (Labet does not use a destemmer). Finishes with huge, toothdusting tannins that clearly will require several years of bottle aging upon the wine's release.
