Tasting notes

The 2020 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru exudes the most mineralité and precision on the nose of Dauvissat’s Premier Crus, coming across very focused and transparent. The palate is classic in style: saline, vibrant and full of energy toward the finish. A lovely tangy, lightly spiced aftertaste lingers. Wonderful.

The seventh and greatest vintage from this vineyard that Dauvissat has produced to date, the 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre unwinds in the glass with notions of peach, crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, freshly baked bread and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional, it's deep and complete, with racy acids, chalky grip and a long, penetrating finish.
About the Producer
One of the most prestigious producers in the Chablis region of Northern Burgundy, Rene et Vincent Dauvissat is a family estate that has been operating since 1931. Originally founded by Rene Dauvisset, whose son Vincent started assisting his father in 1976. The vineyard covers an area of 14 hectares. Although the estate produces a Villages Chablis and a Petit Chablis that are difficult to get a hold of, they are known for their prized Grand Cru and Premier Cru bottlings from the top vineyards in Chablis including the renown Les Clos and Les Preuses.
