The 2023 Auxey-Duresses Vieilles Vignes Blanc has a pretty though simple bouquet with light peach skin scents. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, though overall, it needs more mineralité and feels a bit predictable on the finish.
About the Producer
Pascal Prunier is a talented winemaker known for producing spectacular wines from a diverse range of relatively modest appellations. With his endearing and wide grin, Pascal represents the fifth generation of a family of vignerons. In 1983, he and his wife, Christine Bonheur, launched their own domaine, starting with just 3 hectares of rented vines. Today, the domaine has expanded to 8 hectares, spread throughout the Côte de Beaune, from Saint Romain to Beaune. The production is evenly divided between white and red wines, with the cellars located along the road between Meursault and Auxey-Duresses, close to Jean-Marc Roulot. The white wines are known for their vibrant energy, while the reds exhibit an extraordinary zen-like calm and great purity. Pascal's expertise and passion shine through in every bottle, making his wines truly remarkable.
