The glass containing the Niepoort Vintage is almost overflowing with fruity aromas – damson, cassis, tobacco and cigar box all beautifully defined. With aeration there is a very appealing sense of Bordeaux-like austerity that comes forth. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, a slight savoriness infusing the tertiary black fruit, and superb structure on the reserved, quite aristocratic finish, which offers a kick of spice on the aftertaste. Bright, saturated medium ruby. Black cherry, blueberry, flowers, earth and graphite minerality on the nose. Sweet and lush but energetic too, displaying outstanding depth to its pristine flavors of raspberry, flowers and soil. Wonderfully sappy and primary, and impressively concentrated and chewy, but at the same time seductive and refined thanks to its penetrating vinosity. A major mouthful of port, but the big, tactile tannins call for at least a decade of patience.

Niepoort is located in the Douro region of Portugal. Founded in 1842, Nibert Winery has a long history and belongs to an independent family business, and the winery has continued to grow and develop. Nibert Winery owns several vineyards. Among them, the Redoma Branco vineyard is located at an altitude of 400-800 meters, so the varieties planted there have a longer maturity time, and the vines are all over 60 years old. In the Redoma Reserva Branco vineyard, the vines are planted at an altitude of 400-700 meters, so the wine made from the grapes here is fresh, with mineral flavor, concentrated and complex flavor, which can leave a very special impression on people. deep impression. At the same time, the winery also produces several series of wines. There is a 1970 vintage port wine in the winery, which is still regarded as one of the best port wines in the winery to this day.
