About the Producer

In terms of winemaking, Chateau Michelo has always adhered to the traditional way of making wine. After being slightly crushed, the grapes are placed for 12 hours before being placed in oak barrels for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The fermented wine is then aged for 12 months in about 20% new oak barrels along with the lees, so that the wine can better absorb flavors and tannins. After 12 months, the wines are transferred to temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for a further 6 months. After maturation, the wines are appropriately clarified or lightly filtered, depending on the situation, and finally bottled in the winery. Currently, Chateau Michelo produces many wines, mainly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, including Les Genevrieres Meursault Premier Cru, Les Genevrieres Meursault Premier Cru, La Comme Santenay Premier Cru and Bourgogne Chardonnay. Elegantly structured, full-bodied, with firm tannins, these wines have great ageing potential and, after bottling, require a period of ageing to fully reveal their charm.
