Aromas of quince fruit, glazed lemons, peaches and hints of praline. Some wet stones, too. Medium- to full-bodied with depth and a delicate phenolic edge to its texture. Lengthy and tense with lively, nervy acidity that goes on and on. Lots of crushed stones and spices. Attractive. Drink or hold.

Mario Schiopetto was a pioneering winemaker from Friuli, Italy, known for revolutionizing modern white wine production. Born in 1930, he began his journey in 1965 with the release of his first "Tocai," marking the start of a new era for Italian white wines. Schiopetto was dedicated to innovation, blending traditional techniques with modern practices, and he emphasized high-density planting and mixed vineyards. He traveled extensively to learn from other winemakers, incorporating French elegance and German technology into his methods. Renowned for his passion and expertise, he became a mentor to many young vintners, leaving a lasting legacy in the Italian wine industry.
