Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Neal Martin
The 2009 Les Tourelles de Longueville has a lovely, pure bouquet with joyful red cherry and crushed strawberry aromas. The oak is beautifully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, and a fine line of acidity. Fleshy and nicely framed with raspberry and blackberry laced with tobacco and a generous sprinkling of cracked black pepper on the finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

The rest were soaked in a stainless steel temperature-controlled tank for 20 days in the traditional way. Lactic acid fermentation in large tanks. 70% will use one-year barrels, 30% new barrels, aging for 12 months
