A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, the Lalande Borie has a straightforward leather and cedar scented bouquet that seems foursquare and conservative at this early stage. The palate is medium-bodied, with just a touch of herbaceous fruit on the entry, light and easy drinking with a soft landing on the graphite-tinged finish. Fine. Tasted March 2014.

An attractive, easygoing, low-level Bordeaux with modest black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with underbrush and loamy soil notes, and a medium-bodied, delicate finish, the 2013 Lalande Borie can be drunk over the next 3-4 years.

The 2013 Lalande-Borie is a pretty wine laced with sweet red berries, crushed flowers, mint and spices. Pliant and generous, this mid-weight, gracious red impresses for its balance and classy personality.
About the Producer
The history of Château Lalande Borie is related to the purchase of Château Lagrange, Third Classified Growth in 1855, by the current owners in 1964: the Borie Family. Thus was born the Château Lalande Borie is located in the municipality of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, along the road of great wines along the estuary of the Gironde. The vineyard, thirty hectares in one piece, located on a gravelly plateau planted with noble grapes having been the subject of a meticulous choice, produces an elegant wine and a great finesse. The grape varieties are composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. During the grape harvest, and for the sake of excellence, sorting is done directly in the vineyard thanks to mobile tables avoiding all contact with grapes litigious. The most precious care taken, both in the vineyard and in the vinification or bottling (oenological control, homogeneity of the lots …), the judicious balance between the modern techniques and the respect of the traditions contributed to the notoriety of the believed.
