Kapcsándy's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is rich, unctuous and absolutely impeccable. Dark, sensual and inviting, the 2013 is just as exceptional as it has been in prior tastings. Mocha, espresso, plum, licorice, leather and a host of dark-fleshed fruits infuse the layered, creamy finish. This is one of the most profound, seamless and yet structured wines of the vintage. Wow!

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin opens with the most captivating, exquisite aromatics imaginable. A wine of arresting allure and total sensuality, the 2013 simply has it all. Today, the 2013 is a mere infant, but its personality, pedigree and overall class simply can't be denied. An exotic mélange of lavender, violet, sage, mint and wild flowers are laced into the finish.

A dark, beguiling beauty, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is endowed with serious depth and power. White flowers, cinnamon, orange peel and blueberry jam meld into a huge finish. The 2013 is wonderfully complete, especially for its combination of fruit and structure. This magnificent, towering Cabernet Sauvignon will drink well for two to three decades, perhaps more.

Saturated medium ruby to the rim. Black fruits, crushed rock and tropical bitter chocolate on the nose, lifted by a hint of wildflowers. Densely packed and uncommonly deep, with its black fruit, floral and mineral flavors sharing the pristine quality of the 2013 Roberta's. This incredibly rich, tactile, chewy wine finishes with suave, steadily building tannins, but its element of medicinal menthol reserve suggests that it still needs several years of patience. It may eventually equal--or surpass--the Roberta's, but not in the next ten years. (14.1% alcohol; 97% new French and 3% new Hungarian oak)
About the Producer
We’re proud to use sustainable practices in both our vineyards and our winery. Nesting boxes, perch poles, and songbird houses attract birds of prey and other species – a natural form of pest control. We add compost to our soils to improve water circulation, and natural fertilizers to supply beneficial bacteria, photo nutrients, and trace elements. Cover crops planted between rows add nutrients, control vine growth, attract beneficial insects and prevent erosion. In addition, our winery and residence are 100 percent solar-powered and the excess electricity we produce is returned back to the electrical grid.
