The 2013 Barolo Cannubi is a refined and elegant wine with a slightly shy or inward-looking personality. The bouquet reveals a complex embroidery of floral aromas with roses, violets and medicinal herbs. There's a touch of soapy lavender as well. The mouthfeel is moderate in length and mild in terms of power. It definitely proceeds over the palate with caution. The wine's whispery voice is nuanced and softly-articulated.

The mushroom and dried-cherry character comes through clearly here. Medium to full body, juicy fruit and a long and flavorful finish. Soft and silky texture. Flavorful finish. Solid Cannubi. Drink in 2020.

The 2013 Barolo Cannubi is suave, silky and polished to the core. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, licorice, lavender and wild flowers abound in a deep, pliant wine endowed with class and purity. Slightly darker bluish hues typical of cooler years are front and center. Generous and supple, with striking underlying structure and expressive floral notes, the Cannubi is a total knock-out.
