This was the best bottle that I've encountered of Leroy's 1999 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru, unfurling in the glass with a deep and complex bouquet of dark berry fruit, cassis, smoked meats, rose petals, candied peel and sweet spices. Full-bodied, velvety and immensely concentrated, it's seamless and multidimensional, built around an elegantly muscular chassis of velvety tannin and a lively spine of acidity, concluding with a sapid and expansive finish.

Notes of rose petals, raspberries, candied peel and sweet soil introduce the 1999 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru, a full-bodied, ample wine with a fine-grained, melting chassis of tannins and a deep core of fruit that concludes with a sapid, subtly wood-inflected finish. It's a lovely wine, though I believe that more recent vintages—benefiting from the accumulated effects of Leroy's viticulture—will outshine it at the same age.

The medium ruby-colored 1999 Romanee-St.-Vivant has delicate floral, spice, and berry aromas. It is medium-bodied, complex, refined, and concentrated, yet backward, closed, and tannic. Lehua is a top-level famous chateau in Burgundy. It has been able to compete with another top-level chateau in Burgundy, DRC, in just over 30 years since its establishment. Le Hua's products have always been valuable in the market. They have long been frequent buyers of Sotheby's wine auctions, and they are also the dream products of many wine collectors. The vineyards owned by Leroy are distributed in 26 legal production areas, subdivided into 46 sub-vineyards, with a total area of 22 hectares. The annual output of omaine Leroy wines of all levels is only 35,000 to 45,000 bottles.
