The ruby-colored 2002 Clos de La Roche sports an earthy, herbal, black fruit and spice-packed nose. Medium-bodied, deep, and fresh, this structured, somewhat tannic wine offers flavors reminiscent of red cherries, raspberries, and spices. It has lovely purity, concentration, and length. Note: This estate’s 2002s are not yet released. The above estimate is based on the prices of the 2001s, taking into account that the dollar has significantly dropped. Leroy's 2002 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is beginning to drink beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, spices, rose petal and vine smoke, followed by a full-bodied, dense and layered palate that's suave and voluminous, with incredible concentration, supple tannins and lively acids.
About the Producer
Lehua is a top-level famous chateau in Burgundy. It has been able to compete with another top-level chateau in Burgundy, DRC, in just over 30 years since its establishment. Le Hua's products have always been valuable in the market. They have long been frequent buyers of Sotheby's wine auctions, and they are also the dream products of many wine collectors. The vineyards owned by Leroy are distributed in 26 legal production areas, subdivided into 46 sub-vineyards, with a total area of 22 hectares. The annual output of omaine Leroy wines of all levels is only 35,000 to 45,000 bottles.
