Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Kristaps Karklins
Drawn from five parcels this year—including Les Champeaux and Champonnets—the 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru was processed entirely by hand, with clusters cut apart so that only the berries on their pedicels were retained, followed by maturation in barrel, one-third of which were new. Offering notes of plum, cherry, orange peel and iris, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, supple and succulent, with a vibrant core of fruit, satiny tannins and a perfumed finish. It has turned out nicely.
