The 1990 is equal to the 1989. The saturated color, intense black-cherry, oaky nose, and dense, rich, medium to full-bodied flavors reveal fine concentration and balance. Drink it over the next 5-12 years.

This has last well. A very rich, ripe nose of prune, Xmas cake and cherries that is just a little over-the-top for me (too much maceration?) The palate is ripe, opulent, sweet black fruits with a touch of spearmint. Plum and cassis on the slightly New World leaning finish. Drink now. Tasted October 2007.

The poor man's Leoville-Las-Cases? Sixty-three percent of the production from the vineyards of Leoville-Las-Cases went into this wine, which is surprisingly rich, and better than many of the more renowned cru classes of St.-Julien. It exhibits an intense black cherry nose, a touch of new oak, as well as good concentration and balance. Drink it over the next 5-7 years. Impressive!
