Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Neal Martin
The 2012 Bastor-Lamontagne offers light honeyed scents on the simple, but clean, appealing nose. However, returning after ten minutes, the sample appears to lose some vigor. The palate is simple but well-defined on the entry. There is a little volatility towards the finish, although it seems to fade too rapidly compared to its peers.

The 2012 Bastor-Lamontagne is simple and rather monotone on the nose. The palate is clean and fresh, well balanced, but like the nose, it is missing personality and feels short on the finish. For want of a better word, this comes across as a bit bland. Tasted blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting.
