Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Yohan Castaing
While Elsa Gangloff was not available when I visited the Northern Rhône, I was able to acquire a bottle of the 2024 Condrieu. It wafts from the glass with a vibrant, pungent bouquet of exotic fruits, ripe orchard fruits and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it is built around a lively, fleshy core of fruit that remains notably tense and energetic for Viognier, reflecting the style of the vintage. This is a stunning bottle.
About the Producer
Yves et Mathilde Gangloff is a renowned wine estate located in the Rhône region of France. Established in 1982, it was founded by Yves Gangloff and his wife Mathilde. Known for their exceptional quality, the winery focuses on producing limited quantities of wine, making it a micro-winery. Their vineyards are situated on the steep slopes of Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie, and St.-Joseph. The winery has now been passed on to the second generation, with Yves' daughter Elsa overseeing the administrative affairs of the business. Despite not having a website, the winery's reputation and the passion of the Gangloff family continue to attract wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs to experience their exceptional wines.
