About the Producer
Established in 2002 in the pristine foothills of the Tianshan Mountains, Xiangdu Winery (La Champs D'or) has become a benchmark for China’s burgeoning wine industry. The winery's recent vintage releases have been scooping up Gold and Silver medal awards from the prestigious wine competition Concours Mondiale de Bruxelles, winning over quality wines from traditional winemaking regions from around the world. Located in Yanqi County’s mineral-rich alluvial plains, the estate benefits from a unique microclimate—3,400 annual sunshine hours, dramatic diurnal temperature shifts, super low annual rainfall averaging 67mm a year, 180 frost-free days a year, and access to pure snowmelt water for irrigation. This creates a unique set of extreme yet ideal conditions for cultivating premium grapes. Strategic investments in French oak barrels, Italian bottling technology, and a 10,000-ton production capacity have positioned Xiangdu as an industry leader, with its winery becoming a flagship AAA-rated national tourism destination in Xinjiang. The winery’s success stems from its fusion of international expertise and sustainable practices. Collaborating with CFPPA professor / renowned Burgundy winemaker Dominique Roy and leading Chinese oenologist Yang Huafeng, Xiangdu adheres to a minimalist viticulture and winemaking philosophy, producing terroir-driven wines that reflect Xinjiang’s distinct character. Its portfolio—spanning from the signature Jinbeina red to premium brandies—has garnered acclaim for balancing French winemaking traditions with the region’s untapped potential, cementing Xiangdu’s status as a standard-bearer for China’s premium wine revolution.
