Reliably a highlight of the Verget portfolio, the 2022 Mâcon-Bussières Vignes de Montbrison offers up aromas of pear, white flowers, hazelnuts and freshly baked bread, followed by a medium-bodied, satiny and charming palate, girdled by lively acids and concluding with a saline finish.

The 2022 Mâcon-Bussières Vignes de Montbrison comes from a plot that touches Vergisson. Impressive detail and concentration on the nose offer peach and orange pith scents at first. More Golden Delicious aromas mixed with melted wax appear later. The palate is fresh and lively. There's a pleasing edginess and plenty of weight and girth towards the finish. Pear and grapefruit notes mix with a dab of lemongrass. Excellent.

About the Producer

In 1976, the couple, Main and Jean Marie, came to Burgundy from Belgium and fell in love with wine while learning French. Later, they helped and learned to plant at a winery in the Maine village of Macon. Vergisson, who saved Maconnais for a few hundred francs, bought a small estate and established Domaine Guffens-Heynen. With his serious winemaking attitude and excellent craftsmanship, he surpassed the hard work of ordinary people. He did not use chemical fertilizers, used natural yeast mountains, reduced production, and did not filter. , 㐰The purity of the Huoliu terroir, the reputation of Domaine Guffens-Heynen gradually increased. In 1991, Guffens established Maison Verget and began to purchase grapes for brewing. Verget's full range of products are all white wines, covering almost the entire Burgundy. Although it is not Domaine wine, Guffens is not slack about the raw materials. The contracted grape growers must be low-yielding, harvest when they are the most mature, and they will be checked frequently. Whether the wine grower planted grapes according to his requirements, Guffens is known as one of the hardest workers in Burgundy, in the eyes of Chablis grape growers, Jean-Marie Guffens "They are one-eyed kings in the land of the blind" praised Guffens vision and talent.
