About the Producer
Spreitzer Winery, located in Oestrich in the heart of the Rheingau, has been family-run by Andreas and Bernd Spreitzer since 1997. The winery covers approximately 35 hectares, with around 95% dedicated to Riesling and 5% to Pinot Noir, reflecting the region's focus on these varieties. The Spreitzers produce wines that balance lightness and concentration, showcasing both finesse and depth. Their vineyards benefit from optimal conditions due to the region's gentle slopes and water veins, which help create high-quality grapes. The brothers emphasize natural cultivation, using techniques like greening between rows to enhance microclimates and limit yields for better quality. Hand-harvesting ensures only the best grapes are selected, and the late harvest allows for optimal ripeness. The grapes are often pressed whole bunch to preserve natural fruit flavors. Committed to sustainability, the Spreitzers utilize photovoltaics and geothermal energy to minimize their carbon footprint, demonstrating a deep respect for nature in their winemaking practices.
