I continue to be disappointed with the lack of vision demonstrated with Pinot Gris/Grigio throughout the wine world these days, adding to the bilgewater cesspool that has been gathering at the lower-end price points. This 2015 Pinot Grigio Y Series certainly isn't the worst example of this variety that I've tried, but it doesn't inspire either. With some SO2 overpowering the faint apple-laced nose, it is dry, medium-bodied, simple and short on the finish.

The 2011 Pinot Grigio Y Series has a moderate intensity of fresh peach and ripe apple aromas with a hint of pear drops. Light-bodied and dry on the palate with medium-high acid, it has a medium finish. Drink it now through 2013. Importer: Negociants USA, Napa, CA; Tel. (707) 259-0993

Scented of fresh peaches and pears with a hint of honeysuckle, the dry 2013 The Y Series Pinot Grigio is light to medium-bodied with ample peachy goodness on offer on the palate. It’s refreshing acid backbone holds the flavor through a medium length finish. Drink it now to 2015. Importer: Negociants USA, Napa, CA; Tel. (707) 259-0993
