The 2013 Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Furstentum is a great wine! Exotic fruit aromas on the very clear, precise and quite coolish nose lead to a rich, powerful, complex, highly elegant and subtle palate with a long, piquant and tension-filled, almost dry finish. Very expressive and highly recommend. "Limestone and clay is taming the Gewurztraminer, which is like a wild horse that needs to be ridden," Catherine Faller says.

Bottled with 25 grams per liter of unfermented sugar, Weinbach's intensely colored grand cru 2022 Furstentum Gewurztraminer opens to a deep, saline and lemony bouquet full of lime zest and Amalfi lemons. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated on the palate, this is a dense, powerful and textural Gewürztraminer with a surprising vital acidity structure that leads this classic to a long, intense and concentrated finish. Fabulous! Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.

The Alsace grand cru 2021 Furstentum Gewurztraminer is very clear and precisely aromatic on the bright, elegant and intense nose that combines ripe and concentrated lychee aromas with delicate flint, pastry and orange blossom notes. Full-bodied, rich and savory on the palate and based on a tight yet elegant structure with a fine acidity and tannin complex, this is a substantial, stimulating saline, grippy-mineral and still youthful but very promising Gewürztraminer that will benefit from further bottle age. 13% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted at the domaine in April and at home in August 2024.
