Fleshy and dramatic, Pol Roger's 2015 Brut Rosé bursts with aromas of plums, red berries, blanched almonds and subtle hints of tangerine oil. On the palate, it's full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with an elegantly muscular, vinous profile, its fleshy core of fruit girdled by bright acids and delicately chalky structuring extract. This is an especially gastronomic rosé from this house, and it should age with style given its concentration and depth.

Pol Roger's 2012 Brut Rosé continues to show very nicely, wafting from the glass with aromas of plums, red berries, brioche, blood orange and smoke. Full-bodied, vinous and enveloping, it's a textural, elegantly muscular wine with fine concentration and a fleshy core of fruit, complemented by a pretty pinpoint mousse. This is a charming, gastronomic rosé that's beginning to drink with style.

Pol Roger's just-released 2012 Brut Rosé is still a little shy after its recent disgorgement, unwinding in the glass with an inviting bouquet of warm brioche, red berries, tangerine and dried white flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, broad and concentrated, with ripe but racy acids, a fleshy core and a long, mouthwatering finish. This is an elegantly muscular vintage rosé from Pol Roger that will really blossom with five or six years in the cellar, though of course it can be appreciated before that.

Remembering the rather reserved phase in which I had found Pol Roger's 2012 Brut Rosé when I reviewed it in August, I pulled a bottle from my cellar to check in on its evolution. A few months have made a difference, and the wine is more expressive already, wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of plums, red berries, blood orange and toasted brioche. On the palate, it's full-bodied, muscular and vinous, with terrific depth and structure at the core, its ripe but racy acids balanced by considerable texture and concentration. While this remains youthfully tight-knit, I'm inclined to think I was very conservative regarding its ultimate potential.

The salmon color of the 2006 Rosé Brut with its pink and orange reflections is already magic and most probably unique. And then comes the nose: less subtle and discreet, but fine and elegant, deep, ripe and fleshy, with raw meat, nougat and licorice flavors intermingled with pure red berry (currant) and cherry aromas. Can you imagine this Rosé is based on the Réserve Brut (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay)? It is, but before the bottling and second fermentation, approximately 15% of still red wine (Pinot Noir) from the crus of the Montagne de Reims is added. This extraordinary Rosé Champagne is produced only in limited quantities and has been aged seven years before its release. Medium to full-bodied, smooth and fruit intense on the palate, this is another highly elegant and perfectly balanced Pol Roger fizz with a beautiful Pinot perfume in the finish. This is very sensual though complex Champagne that covers your tongue with pink silk. If you don't mind, I'd prefer to call this an excitingly erotic Champagne that I would love to drink on its own, but in any case not alone.

The 2018 Brut Rosé opens to a superb bouquet revealing scents of plums, red berries, pastry, almond, mandarin orange and lemon oil complemented by classy autolytic notes. On the palate, this remarkable rosé has a tauter and more fine-boned texture than usual, which is enhanced by bright acids and a chalky, saline finish. It requires patience to realize all its potential.
