Not yet bottled at the time of my visit (it gets extended lees contact), the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Première Pierre looks to be another stunning effort. Aged in a mixture of foudre, amphora and tank, it features appealing scents of pencil shavings, crushed stone, citrus and white peach. Medium to full-bodied, it's crisp and linear, with a long, briny-zesty finish.

A fantastic vintage for the domaine's white, the 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Première Pierre was bottled in September 2022 after extended lees contact in stainless steel, demi-muids and amphorae. Pear, white peach and tangerine notes abound on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is plump, creamy and lush, finishing long and harmonious.

A blend of 50% Clairette, 25% Grenache Blanc, 5% Bourboulenc and other authorized grapes, the 2023 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Première Pierre exhales an oaky, dense bouquet of clove, spices, licorice, ripe orchard fruits and lemon oil. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated with a fleshy mid-palate, it's a bit heavy on the finish. Matured in a combination of large barrels, new barrels, used barrels, terra cotta jars and stainless steel, it's a rather muscular, almost overripe Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
