Critic ratings

vinous 2012

Rating: 92 –92

The 2012 Extra-Brut Rosé Cuvée 1522 is done in a perfumed, gracious style that is more about aromatics and ethereal nuance. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, chalk and white pepper are some of the nuances that grace this delicate, understated Rosé. This is a decidedly light style, especially for the year. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: April, 2021.

vinous 2012

Rating: 93 –93

The 2012 Extra-Brut Rosé Cuvée 1522 is creamy and expansive on the palate, showing terrific depth and all of the charm that is such a signature of the vintage, but with a good deal of translucence as well. Crushed red berries, mint, chalk and white pepper develop beautifully. I would give the 2012 6-12 more months in bottle to recover from its relatively recent disgorgement. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: March, 2021. (Originally published in May 2021)
