Pahlmeyer's 2021 Jayson Chardonnay is nicely balanced, in a restrained, sedate format, with subtle nutty and creamy notes set against oak spice, white peaches and ripe pineapple. Primarily a selection of barrels that didn't make the cut for the top bottlings, it's medium to full-bodied, round and generous in the mouth; it's just lacking a bit of intensity and length. It's still an excellent wine.

The 2019 Jayson Chardonnay rolls out of the glass with seductive scents of ripe apricots, honeydew melon, apple pie and poached pears with hints of cedar, honey toast and crushed cashews. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is chock-full of spicy apple and pear-inspired flavors with a satiny texture and refreshing burst on the finish. 1,400 cases were made.

The 2020 Jayson Chardonnay—entirely barrel fermented and aged in French oak—is gently toasty, with notes of citrus custard, melon and a hint of movie popcorn. It's medium to full-bodied and silky, with a bright, lemon-lime finish.
