More cohesive than the 2020 vintage of the same bottling, the 2021 Iron Chenin Blanc is fresh, brilliant and expressive, with a clean frame of citrus that sways with a balanced and seductive nature. Medium-bodied, the wine has a radiant structure and a touch less acidity than the previous vintage; however, the wine governs with a food-friendly, fresh expression that I appreciate and will be well received upon release.

The newest addition to this range and the first-ever vintage of this bottling, the 2020 Iron Chenin Blanc is softly reductive with a touch of fresh flowers and sweet citrus with dusty white tea aromas. Medium to full-bodied, the wine initially has a subtle nervous energy before finding its stride across the palate with a beam of bright acidity. The Iron Chenin Blanc ends with a fantastically focused finish with lingering spicy essence that will no doubt be the sleeper of the soil series range. Just give it another year in the bottle. Only 1,560 bottles were made in the inaugural vintage. Bravo!
