Dressed in a pink salmon color, the non-vintaged Rosé Impérial Brut opens with a clear and fresh, delicately intense and slightly floral bouquet of small red berries, cherries and rose petals. Full-bodied, round, intense and fresh on the palate, this is a lovely aromatic and expressive Pinot Noir/Meunier blend with a kiss of elegant Chardonnay. In total, 20% of red Pinot wines give not just color, but also structure. This is very good and stimulating Rosé.

The latest release of the NV Brut Impérial Rosé offers up a pretty bouquet of candied strawberries and red berries, followed by a medium-bodied, delicately fleshy, open-knit palate that's nicely balanced, albeit somewhat ephemeral. Considering the volume produced, it's a creditable effort, and it's worth noting that the wine's dosage is well integrated.

A particularly good value.

(roughly 45% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay, with 9 g/l dosage; LAH9V): Dark, vivid pink. Ripe red berries, rose oil and tangerine on the nose, plus a subtle note of toasty lees. Bitter cherry and berry skin flavors give way to softer raspberry in the middle, with a tangy blood orange nuance adding cut and lift. Packs a punch but shows very good clarity and delineation, finishing round, smooth and quite long.

(roughly 45% pinot noir, 35% pinot meunier and 20% chardonnay): Bright orange-pink. Spicy cherry, red berries, blood orange and five-spice powder on the perfumed nose. Fleshy but dry, boasting excellent energy to its bitter cherry, redcurrant and floral pastille flavors. Finishes smooth and fleshy, with very good breadth and cling. The turnaround over the last few years at this house, now under the guidance of chef de cave Benoit Gouez, has been remarkable.

Pale orange. Musky citrus and red berry aromas and flavors, with a suggestion of herbs in the background. Fleshy and smooth but a bit disjointed, with a touch of bitter cherry on the finish. I'd have liked more vivacity.

Pale pink. Delicate, racy aromas of flowers and spicy red berries. Focused, even tight, with tart red fruit flavors enlivened by tangy acidity. This is one of the driest versions of this wine I can recall. Finishes brisk and clean, with a lingering impression of white peach.

Medium-pink color. Aromas of candied strawberry and raspberry, with a sweet, lightly caramelized tone. Slightly sweet on the palate, with a fat, viscous texture and flavors of strawberry preserves, cocoa and honey. The finish is off-dry and slightly bitter, repeating the sweet, somewhat jammy red berry notes.
