The 2019 Marsannay Rosé is deep in hue (comme d’habitude) and Roty mentioned how easy it was to extract the color. This has a pretty strawberry and morello –9 bouquet that feels well defined. The palate is peachy on the entry with just a hint of aniseed, and lively and very caressing on the finish. Quite delicious.

A pretty example of an appellation that is becoming rarer and rarer, the 2015 Marsannay Rosé from Domaine Joseph Roty offers up an elegant nose of orange peel, red apple and peach. Medium to full-bodied, succulent and pure on the palate, it finishes with subtle chalky grip. This is produced entirely by direct pressing, with no maceration.

This estate consistently produces one of my favorite roses in Burgundy. This pale pink-colored wine offers fresh strawberry aromas and has a lively, rich, silky-textured, and medium-bodied personality balanced by a core of tangy red fruits. It is a fruity yet dry wine ideal for quaffing over the next two years.
