Harvested on August 26, Colin's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets bursts from the glass with aromas of peach, pear, yellow apples, freshly baked bread and nutmeg. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and youthfully introverted, with fine tension and back-end grip. This is very promising.

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is one of the high points of the range, revealing aromas of lemon oil, crushed rocks, honeycomb, mandarin and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with superb concentration, stony phenolic grip and an elegant sense of completeness. Readers looking to get a sense of this new domaine's potential should seek out this Caillerets.
