Rating: 91 –93

Aromas of citrus zest, crisp green apple, fresh bread, toasted almonds and light reduction introduce the 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, ample but chiseled wine that's satiny and precise, concluding with a gently chalky finish.

Rating: 91 –93

The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru opens in the glass with notes of citrus oil, white flowers, almond paste and mint. Medium to full-bodied, crisp and tangy, it's racy and precise, though a little more texture and mid-palate amplitude might not have gone amiss.

The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with notes of citrus oil, white flowers, fresh pastry and toasted almonds. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's racy and incisive, with chalky structuring extract and a long, mineral finish.

Rating: 92 –94

The 2022 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with a gently reductive bouquet of citrus oil, yellow orchard fruit, white flowers and toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, layered and polished, it's pure and mineral, with lively acids and a saline, nutmeg-inflected finish.

The 2014 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, which is matured in a two-year old barrel, has a very intense bouquet with vibrant citrus fruit and a touch of licorice. The palate is very tensile with fabulous acidic drive matched with multi-layered fruit; it has a flinty finish that goes on and on. It is a great Chevalier-Montrachet, if not quite matching the very finest examples in 2014. Good luck finding it. Jean-Marc may elect to bottle this as magnum.
