Pears and apples are intermingled with fresh earth notes in the aromatics of the 1999 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne. This wine has gorgeous breadth, richness, focus, and precision to its medium-bodied personality. Lovely white berry fruit, stones, and minerals can be found throughout its character, as well as in its detailed and long finish. While generally not one of Boillot's finest premier crus, it stood out in 1999.

The ginger snap-scented 2002 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne is a light to medium-bodied, silky-textured effort. Fresh, pure, revealing plenty of depth, this mineral and spicy pear-dominated offering is loaded with glycerin. Projected maturity: now-2010.
