Critic ratings

vinous 2018

Rating: 90 –92

Matured in 20% new oak and 30% aged in foudres, the 2018 Meursault Clos de Mazeray has a lively, generous, well-defined bouquet featuring scents of apple blossom, lime flower and even a hint of fresh rhubarb. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, and quite weighty in the mouth, leading to a waxy-textured finish. Very fine.

Expansive nose of sun-kissed stone fruit and butterscotch. Ripe and rich for the 2021 vintage with some orange pith bitterness on the generous palate. All of this wrapped in creaminess that deftly harmonizes the bold structure. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

A rich and muscular white with aromas and flavors of sliced apples and pears, as well as dried-pineapple and pie-crust undertones. Full-bodied and layered, with super length and density. Exotic and expressive in so many ways. A hint of walnuts to the ripe fruit at the end. A beauty to drink now. Why wait?
