Rating: 85 –87

The 2018 Bourgogne Blanc comes from vines that are located just down from the maison of Jacques Prieur. It has a light, grassy bouquet that opens nicely with aeration. This is partially aged in foudres so the wood element is nicely contained on the palate. There are tropical notes of passion fruit and mango toward the finish. Enjoy over the next two or three years.

The 2020 Bourgogne Blanc is matured half in concrete vat and half in barrel with 30% new wood. It has a simple bouquet with apple blossom and pear aromas. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, though straightforward with a grapey finish. Closure: Diam

The 2016 Bourgogne Chardonnay, which came directly from foudre, was a little muted on the nose. The palate is nicely balanced, very simple with a primal, malic finish that needs to fill out a little by the time of bottling.

The 2015 Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from vines that virtually encircle the chateau in Meursault. It has a lightly honeyed, walnut-tinged bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is fresh on the entry with tinned peach and quince notes, although the tropical fruit dominates the second half and denudes it of tension.
