Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Brouilland. The 2013 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre has a more complex bouquet than its peers, with yellow and white flower scents permeating the citrus fruit and subtle mineral aromas. This is detailed and more sophisticated than others in this blind tasting. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, saline in the mouth, not long but there is weight and a sense of ambition here, with a long and satisfying aftertaste. This is very fine indeed. Tasted May 2016.
