The 2014 Givry Blanc Clos des Vignes Rondes has a gentle, lilting bouquet with white peach and almond scents, a slight steeliness that lends this tension and delineation. The palate is rounded on the entry. There is very good concentration here, rounded and lightly spiced in the mouth, although I would have liked just a little more mineralité to come through on the finish. Not bad overall however.

The 2012 Givry Blanc Clos des Vignes Rondes has a lovely pure bouquet with scents of grapefruit, almond and citrus lemon the builds nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a nicely balanced entry. There is a pleasing line of acidity with a spicy nose developing toward the finish that fans out nicely. This is a great Givry from one its best exponents. One Lumpp or two? My advice is to take two because this domaine has been producing exquisite Givry wine for many years now and I am only too pleased to have found three exemplary reds that deliver quality for those who don’t care whether it is Givry or Gevrey, as long as the wine tastes good.
