A blend of 55% Sauvignon Blanc and 45% Sémillon, the 2022 de Fieuzal Blanc exhibits aromas of spring flowers, lemon oil, al dente pear and peach with flinty hints. Juicy, round and deep, fleshy and fresh with a medium to full-bodied palate, it has a slightly phenolic finish. The aging process should reduce the slight austerity and bring more flesh and substance.

robert_parker 2021

Rating: 92 –94

The 2021 de Fieuzal Blanc shows considerable potential, unwinding in the glass with aromas of crisp nectarine, mint, pasty cream, citrus oil and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and tensile, with tangy acids, chalky dry extract and a long, saline finish, it will be bottled under Diam 30. This Sauvignon Blanc-Sémillon blend is rapidly establishing itself as one of Bordeaux's most interesting dry white wines. Tasted three times.

Rating: 93 –93

The 2020 Blanc from de Fieuzal is performing very well in bottle, exhibiting aromas of peach and nectarine mingled with hints of mint, pastry cream and citrus zest. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's a bright, elegantly fleshy wine that's a touch finer-boned than the glossier, more textural 2019. Bottled under Diam 30, this cuvée continues to prove itself as one of the more interesting dry whites produced in contemporary Bordeaux.

robert_parker 2020

Rating: 91 –93

The 2020 de Fieuzal Blanc gives up scents of lemon tart, fresh, crunchy pears and white grapefruit with hints of crushed rocks, coriander seed and white pepper. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and elegantly styled with a quiet intensity of citrus and pear flavors and a chalky finish.

robert_parker 2019

Rating: 92 –94

The de Fieuzal 2019 Blanc slowly unfurls to reveal beguiling scents of orange blossoms, candied lemon peel and fresh ginger over a core of Bosc pears and white peaches. Medium-bodied, the palate has beautiful harmony with relatively soft acidity and a compelling gingery kick on the finish.

robert_parker 2019

Rating: 92 –92

A terrific effort, the 2019 de Fieuzal Blanc offers up inviting aromas of nectarine, confit citrus fruit, white flowers and subtle hints of pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and a saline finish, it's a charming, beautifully balanced wine that punches well above its weight.

De Fieuzal's 2018 Blanc bursts with tropical fruit notions of green guava, fresh pineapple and mango, followed by nuances of yuzu zest, lime leaves and jasmine. The medium-bodied palate delivers fantastic freshness and intensity with loads of citrusy layers, delivered with lovely harmony, finishing on a lingering pineapple note.

robert_parker 2018

Rating: 92 –94

The de Fieuzal 2018 Blanc bursts from the glass with gregarious green mango, guava and fresh limes scents followed by green apples and pineapple plus a waft of honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with topical and citrus layers, with a satiny texture and bold freshness, finishing savory.

robert_parker 2016

Rating: 90 –92

The De Fieuzal 2016 Blanc has a rich, tropical tinged bouquet with scents of guava, pineapple and mango, nicely defined and probably one of the most commercially minded dry white bordeaux. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, with subtle notes of orange rind and nectarine dovetailing into a lightly spiced, stem ginger finish. Certainly this is one of the better examples of its kind this year.

robert_parker 2015

Rating: 87 –87

The De Fieuzal 2015 Blanc has a taut, melon and white flower-scented bouquet with subtle undergrowth/wet moss-like aromas simmering underneath. The palate is well balanced but quite oaky on the entry and this just obscures some of the terroir expression toward the finish. It is pleasant but does not deliver the intellectual aspect of some of its peers. I would like to re-taste this again at some point.

robert_parker 2013

Rating: 89 –91

A blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon, the bouquet attired upon the de Fieuzal Blanc has perfumed with tinned apricot and lemon sherbet that billows with aeration. The aromatics seem well integrated with the 40% new oak and the addition of acacia barrels adds another level of complexity (incidentally, all primeur samples of this particular wine were drawn from new acacia barrels.) The palate is fresh on the entry with a dab of spice on the tip of the tongue, the acacia component influencing the finish that is phenolic and effervescent. This will be interesting to examine after bottling. Tasted April 2014.

robert_parker 2013

Rating: 94 –96

Possibly the greatest Fieuzal since the legendary 1985, the 2013 boasts a light straw color with a greenish hue as well as a stunning perfume of tangerine oil, orange marmalade, citrus and honeysuckle. Surprisingly full, rich, exuberant and borderline flamboyant, this is a stunning white Graves to consume over the next 20+ years.

robert_parker 2013

Rating: 91 –91

The 2013 De Fieuzal Blanc has quite a candied nose with hints of brown sugar lurking behind that veneer of tropical fruit. For Fieuzal I find this refreshingly vivacious in style. That comes through on the palate with nectarine and peach skin, a keen line of acidity with a slightly overworked finish that is more phenolic than its peers. It needs 3 or 4 years in bottle to really show its mettle, though instinct tells me that it will be worth waiting for.

robert_parker 2012

Rating: 88 –88

Tasted blind at the Southwold 2012 tasting. The 2012 De Fieuzal Blanc has a withdrawn, lanolin-scented bouquet that is nicely defined, some attractive Sémillon here, but it just requires more intensity and chutzpah. The palate is well balanced with a soft peach skin and fresh pear opening, the acidity a little low and consequently it feels a little smudged towards the phenolic finish. Tasted January 2016.

robert_parker 2012

Rating: 92 –94

Abundant aromas of orange marmalade, white currants, hazelnuts and subtle smoky oak are found in this broad, layered, full-bodied white wine. Drink this terrific De Fieuzal blanc over the next two decades.

robert_parker 2012

Rating: 92 –94

Tasted from a barrel sample at en primeur. The de Fieuzal Blanc has a lifted, perfumed bouquet with touches of dried orange peel and apricot blossom that are well defined and vigorous, perhaps leaning slightly to the New World (though there is nothing wrong with that.) The palate is well balanced with crisp green fruit, lemongrass and orange zest that builds to a vibrant, satisfying finish. This is a superb white from the estate. Tasted April 2013.

robert_parker 2012

Rating: 90 –90

One of the top estates for dry white wines, now owned by the Quinn family, De Fieuzal’s 2012 has a light greenish/gold color and a beautiful nose of caramelized tropical fruits, fig, grapefruit and orange oil. It is crisp, lush, and best drunk over the next 10 years.

robert_parker 2011

Rating: 89 –89

Also great values, no tasting note given.

robert_parker 2011

Rating: 88 –90

The de Fieuzal Blanc has crisp minerality on the nose with notes of fresh lime, kiwi and green apples. It gains intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp entry, well-integrated oak, although I was seeking more tension and personality towards the finish. Perhaps this will offer more after bottling because it has good substance. Tasted April 2012.

robert_parker 2011

Rating: 90 –92

robert_parker 2010

Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. This bottle of de Fieuzal Blanc was showing some SO2 on the nose rendering it difficult to discern the fruit profile. The palate is crisp on the entry with delicate touches of pear drop and apricot. It is nicely balanced, pretty and Riesling-like, though missing a little presence. Tasted January 2014.

robert_parker 2010

Rating: 92 –94

A brilliant effort and one of the great dry whites of the vintage is this honeyed, complex, melony, full-bodied effort that should drink well for 25+ years.

robert_parker 2010

Rating: 92 –94

The de Fieuzal Blanc has fine intensity on the nose with green apple, kiwi fruit and a touch of lime flower. A little closed at first but it unfurls nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine apricot and lime-tinged entry, well balanced with good acidity and vigour towards the finish. What excellent de Fieuzal from an estate that is quietly improving year after year. Tasted March 2011.

robert_parker 2010

Rating: 89 –89

Tasted at the Union de Grand Cru. The white de Fieuzal has a rather conservative bouquet that does not really let rip like it should. Still, the palate is well defined with attractive citrus peel and apricot notes on the entry. It is nicely balanced with orange zest and lime decorating the finish. Hopefully the aromatics will awaken with time. Tasted November 2012.

robert_parker 2010

Rating: 92 –92

More oaky than most, but showing plenty of buttery, honeyed, complex melony and citrus notes, this wine is medium to full-bodied, tasty, fresh and impressive. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2035.

robert_parker 2009

Rating: 92 –92

White currants, and fennel seed/licorice intermixed with ripe grapefruit, honeyed melons and a touch of new oak are all present in this fresh, medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, crisp, dry white Graves. Anticipated maturity: now-2025.

robert_parker 2009

Rating: 89 –91

Tasted at a negociant. This is a perfumed, quite floral, peach and elderflower scented bouquet with good definition and lift. The palate is primal on the entry, showing good depth with grapefruit, apricot and some honeyed flavours towards the rounded zesty finish. This Fieuzal has some chutzpah for the vintage. Very fine. Tasted April 2010.

robert_parker 2009

Rating: 92 –94

Because of both time and space constraints, I am not able to provide tasting notes for the 2009 dry white Bordeaux, but it is an extremely strong vintage. Most châteaux equaled the dazzling quality of the 2007 dry whites. That said, the 2009s tend to be less classic than 2007, but more exotic, honeyed, and higher in alcohol, with compelling richness. The 2009s will probably have a shorter evolutionary curve, but these wines tend to last a long time, even in a vintage such as this. They are fascinating dry white wines.

robert_parker 2009

Rating: 85 –85

Tasted at the Union de Grand Cru in London. I am not quite sure of the white wine from de Fieuzal. It is muted on the nose and despite coaxing, there is little to describe. The palate is balanced but lacking real complexity. It slakes the thirst, but not memorable. Tasted October 2011.

robert_parker 2009

Rating: 89 –89

Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. The nose on the de Fieuzal Blanc ‘09 takes some encouraging with pleasant light nettle and fresh gooseberry aromas, but the palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, a keen citric thread and a vivacious finish of fresh apple, pear and a touch of mango. This is very fine. Tasted January 2013.

robert_parker 2008

Rating: 92 –92

Good acids along with hints of earth, buttered citrus and exotic melons are found in this cuvee.

robert_parker 2008

Rating: 88 –88

Tasted ex-chateau and single blind in Southwold. The nose is relatively closed compared to its peers with light apple blossom and almond aromas. It gains a little intensity in the glass. The palate is well balanced with attractive notes of Conference pear and lemon zest, nice weight with a fresh citrus-driven finish and a spicy, lemongrass-tinged aftertaste. Fine. Tasted January 2012.

robert_parker 2008

Rating: 88 –90

Compared to 2006 and 2007, the 2008 dry white wines of Bordeaux are inferior, but that does not mean they are not very good. They do not possess the flesh, power, or richness of the 2006 and 2007, but they reveal precise, intensely aromatic personalities, lighter bodies, and more noticeable acidity. These remain among the world’s most underrated world-class dry white wines. I will provide full tasting notes once they are in bottle, but following are the dry whites I tasted along with their approximate scores.

robert_parker 2008

Rating: 87 –89

Again, this is rather simple on the nose with apple-blossom, a touch of gravel and white flowers, but lacking lift and definition. The palate is better, a fresh pithy pear skin entry, gooseberry; good definition, nicely judged oak and a sense of focus towards the grassy, sharp finish. Good length. Hopefully the aromatics will improve during elevage. Tasted April 2009.

robert_parker 2007

Rating: 93 –93

Tasted blind at the 2007 Bordeaux horizontal in Southwold. A great showing of de Fieuzal Blanc that surpasses all my previous experiences. The mineralite shines through with crushed stone and “morning dew” aromas. Imagine breathing in the dawn air on an Dorset farm! Fresh and lively. The palate is well balanced with a crisp entry, bright flavours of orange zest and tangerine, a hint of honeydew melon, leading to a very harmonious finish. Ignore at your peril. Tasted January 2011.

robert_parker 2007

Rating: 88 –90

This displays good intensity on the nose, slightly grassy, touch of chalk dust, nice lift. A soft entry, clean, a little low in acidity but there are some attractive grassy flavours coming through with touches of cut lime, bitter lemon and gravel. Cuts off rather short on the finish but not bad at all. Tasted April 2008.

Rated - No tasting note given.

robert_parker 2007

Rating: 88 –88

This has a light, slightly grassy nose with touches of grapefruit and peach. The palate is medium-bodied, harmonious, lacking a little nervosite and tension with flavours of passion fruit, white peach and a touch of spice and bitter lemon on the finish. This has more complexity and vivacity than the 2007, so going in the right direction. Drink now-2015. Tasted September 2008.

robert_parker 2006

Rating: 88 –90

This is a strong vintage for Bordeaux’s dry white wines, probably as good or better than 2005. Crisp acidity combined with outstanding concentration and the fact that most of the white grapes were harvested before the rains began in mid-September resulted in an impressive group of wines.

robert_parker 2006

Rating: 83 –83

Tasted blind at Southwold ’06 Bordeaux tasting. A troubled nose: some reductive, sulphide aromas afflicting the aromas. The palate is actually better, well balanced and quite fresh, but somehow it seems to have been stripped of any personality. This feels like a lobotomized white Bordeaux. A second bottle is fresher on the nose but still rather simple. Light greengage, yellow flower and gooseberry but still some SO2 problems. Dilute finish. Tasted January 2010.

robert_parker 2006

Rating: 92 –92

Gorgeous aromatics of wood smoke, earth, honeysuckle, lemon grass, and melons are all present in this wine’s complex smorgasbord of aromas. It has superb depth, medium to full body, good acidity, and a long finish. This should evolve over a 20-year period.

robert_parker 2006

Rating: 85 –85

This is very closed on the nose with faint scents of chalk and white flowers, with specks of pear and grapefruit coming through with aeration. The palate is soft on the entry, good acidity, just lacking some complexity in the middle, whilst the finish a little anonymous. Opt for the ’07. Drink now-2012. Tasted September 2008.

robert_parker 2005

Rating: 93 –93

2005 is an excellent vintage possessing high acidity as well as impressive levels of weight, richness, and texture.

robert_parker 2005

Rating: 87 –87

Tasted single blind at Southwold. Good vigour on the nose, citrus fruits, yellow flowers and a touch of lemon curd. Nice minerality and definition with a hefty dollop of creamy new oak. Good fruit intensity, nice oak and vibrant acidity, creamy finish and nice length, however it fades in the glass. It promised so much, but delivers so little. Drink now-2011. Tasted January 2009.

robert_parker 2004

A soft understated creamy, vanillary nose. The palate appears to lack some vigor and poise. Needs to be reassessed after bottling. Tasted April 2005.

robert_parker 2004

Rating: 88 –88

robert_parker 2003

Rating: 85 –87

Very little on the nose: touch of lemon and gravel developing in the glass. The palate is low in acidity, peachy with citrus fruits. Again, better than I expected but the low acidity means it should be drunk in the next couple of years. Tasted October 2005.

robert_parker 2003

Rating: 90 –90

Sadly, because of space limitations, it was not possible to include tasting notes for this wine. However, readers should be aware that neither 2003 nor 2002 was a great vintage for white wines. Normally these wines can be extremely long-lived, lasting 20-25, sometimes 30+ years. I would be careful about long term aging for the 2003 given its fragile acidity.

robert_parker 2002

Rating: 86 –88

"Does not really excite" I wrote when this wine was in barrel. Tasted after bottling in London in November 2004. There is little on the nose: cold steel. Quite sharp on the palate with green fruits and high acidity. Very primal, lacking some substance with a grapefruit finish. Lacks vigor. O.K. but I would drink this in the short-term.

robert_parker 2001

Rating: 93 –93

A tremendous effort from Fieuzal, this exceptionally rich, dry white offers up aromas of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, roasted herbs, figs, and melons. Medium to full-bodied, exceptionally concentrated, with great definition and zestiness, this impressive effort should have 20-25 years of longevity. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020.

robert_parker 2001

Rating: 85 –87

A Sauvignon dominated, gooseberry nose of moderate intensity. The palate is full of green fruits: pear and limes with good acidity but lacking the depth and complexity of the 1999 or 2000. The finish is somewhat abrupt. Good but not great. Tasted July 2004.

Wet sand, quite minerally nose with floral notes: rose petals. Moderate intensity. Palate is a little flat. Lacks acidity. Gooseberry and pear notes. Moderate complexity but certainly a level down from Domaine de Chevalier. Fine. Tasted November 2002.

robert_parker 1999

Rating: 88 –89

A superb 1999, similar to the 1995. Striking kiwi/gooseberry nose. A lot of New Oak. Good acidity and rather racy. Concentrated green fruits. Tight now but with good depth and length. Very good indeed. Tasted March 2000.

Pale lemon. A charming aromatic nose: quite stony. Good balanced acidity with integrated creamy tannins. Almost over-oaked but wine retains its minerality. Attractive pear-drop finish. Very fine. Tasted February 2000.

A terrific example from this estate that usually makes one of the best white wines of Graves, the citrusy, honeyed, smoky nose soars from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, with exquisite concentration, superb focus, and a fresh, long, rich, structured finish, this terrific Fieuzal should age well for 15+ years.

Fieuzal has been making sensational white Graves since their white winemaking renaissance began in 1985. The 1985 Fieuzal remains one of the most sensational white wines this property has yet made. It was followed by terrific efforts in 1988 and 1989, and very strong offerings in both 1992 and 1993. The rich, powerful 1993 offers authoritative flavors presented in a full-bodied style that is crammed with honeyed, waxy, melony fruit and spicy new oak. The wine possesses a chewy, thick texture, and a long, crisp finish. Fieuzal's white wines are made of 50% Semillon and 50% Sauvignon Blanc and are vinified and aged in 100% new oak. This offering should last for at least 10-15 years.

The 1992 exhibits a big, creamy, rich nose of smoky new oak and ripe fruit, medium to full body, excellent concentration, and a chewy finish. While it is not as well-delineated as some vintages, it offers a lusty mouthful of Fieuzal. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Fieuzal has been producing gorgeous dry Graves since 1985. Both the 1991 and 1992 are successes.

The 1991 has turned out well in what was a tough year. Although understated, it possesses a sense of elegance, crisp, lemony/honeyed flavors, light to medium body, toasty new oak, and a tasty, dry finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Since 1985 Fieuzal has been producing gorgeous dry Graves. Both the 1991 and 1992 are successes.

This wine is light gold, with a restrained, yet provocative bouquet of figs, melons, smoky new oak, and honey. In the mouth, this wine is less concentrated and full when compared to the 1988, but delicate, with good acidity, complexity, and an entirely satisfying finish. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 4/91.

I have never been a great admirer of the 1986 white Graves and this effort from de Fieuzal is more straightforward than usual, without the underlying complexity and precision to its flavors. It is full, but comes across as chunky and foursquare. The wine remains slightly formless. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 4/91.

Bright gold-tinged straw. Ripe, fresh aromas of white stone fruit, anise and white flowers are complemented by oaky spices and minerals. Bright and fresh in the mouth, showing lovely lift and clarity to the green apple, gooseberry and lime flavors. Finishes clean and very long, with vibrant acidity lifting and extending the bright flavors at the back. A very impressive wine with sneaky concentration and an impression of rising sweetness to its spicy oak and light torrefaction flavors.

Bright, pale straw. Complex aromas of white peach, vanilla and white flowers on the enticing nose. Bright and fresh on the palate, with juicy acidity lifting the ripe citrus and mineral flavors. The finish is long and pure, with rising but noble tannins. A very refined white wine.

The 2018 Fieuzal Blanc is nicely done. Lemon confit, almond, chamomile and dried flowers fill out the layers nicely. There is enough energy to support at least a few years in the cellar, but it would be nice to see more depth and complexity.

Just as I commented from barrel, the 2018 Château de Fieuzal Blanc has a pleasant green apple and pear nose, but what it really lacks is vigor. The palate is well balanced with a citrus opening and notes of white peach and clementine. Nicely focused, with a tang of marmalade and ginger toward the finish. I just wish the aromatics would pull up their bootstraps.

The 2018 de Fieuzal Blanc has a clean bouquet with light citrus and green apple scents, although I would have liked more vigour. The palate is well balanced but simple, with primal grapefruit notes and a touch of spiciness on the finish.

The 2021 Blanc is turning out beautifully, evoking aromas of mint, spices, peach, lemon oil and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced, it’s tense and fleshy, crystalline and seamless, with a fresh, saline and pure finish. It feels reassuringly persistent and could age well over the next two decades. This outstanding wine is crafted from 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon.

The 2023 Blanc from de Fieuzal is another great success this year, exhaling pure aromas of white fruits, white flowers, ripe orchard fruits, menthol and anise. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and broad, it has a delicate, pure mid-palate with chalky dry extract and a long, mouthwatering and saline finish. The aging period in barrels may enhance its mid-palate, potentially making it one of the standout white wines of the vintage. This is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon.

The Château de Fieuzal Blanc 2014 has an attractive nose: lime mixed with citrus fruit and touches of grilled walnut coming through with aeration. The palate is quite shrill on the entry with attacking lime and citrus scents. The acidity is quite strong here, but there is plenty of fruit and a lovely sense of tension on the finish. This is an excellent Pessac-Léognan from this rejuvenated estate.

The 2015 de Fieuzal Blanc has plenty of tropical fruit on the nose - pineapple, pink grapefruit and lime aromas that are designed to seduce. The palate has a little fatness on the entry, a little lower in acidity than its peers, with rounded peach and pineapple notes flourishing on the finish. A classy crowd-pleaser, in other words.

The de Fieuzal 2016 Blanc reveals subtle lime cordial, lemon juice and pomelo scents with wafts of peach blossoms and tangerine peel. Medium-bodied with a good core of vivacious citrus flavors in the mouth, it has a racy backbone and mineral-tinged finish.

Sadly, because of space limitations, it was not possible to include tasting notes for this wine. However, readers should be aware that neither 2003 nor 2002 was a great vintage for white wines. Normally these wines can be extremely long-lived, lasting 20-25, sometimes 30+ years.

The 2005 Fieuzal offers up aromas of hazel nuts, lemon zest, white peaches, currants, and honeysuckle. Gorgeous acidity, a touch of creamy oak, and a full-bodied mouthfeel result in a Burgundian-style white Graves. Enjoy it over the next 20 years.

This is a competent albeit monolithic, straightforward, foursquare effort without the nuances one expects. It exhibits plenty of oak, some melony fruit, but a short finish. Anticipated maturity: now -2010.

Note: Due to space limitations, no tasting notes have been included, only my qualitative score. Obviously, the 2001 dry whites are extremely long-lived wines. They can be drunk young or cellared for 20-30+ years. I recently had the pleasure of tasting the 1962 Domaine de Chevalier, which was still incredibly fresh and lively. In many ways, these whites age even more slowly than red Bordeaux.

Lively, gourmand and pure, the 2022 Blanc from de Fieuzal evokes aromas of verbena, white fruits, flowers and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, enrobing and charming, it's seamless with a fleshy, gourmand core of fruit and bright acids enhanced by an ethereal, pure and pristine balance. This blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon confirms the stylistic evolution of this estate. Kudos!

Fieuzal's dry white is one of the stronger efforts from the 1996 vintage. It exhibits a smoky, lavishly wooded nose with attractive sweet fruit. The wine possesses high acidity, but the requisite richness and creaminess in its texture to hold up to the wine's structure. It should close down and need 5-7 years of cellaring. Although leaner and less opulent than the top vintages of Fieuzal, it is one of the vintage's successes. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2012. Last tasted 3/97

Fieuzal's medium-bodied 1995 is a highly successful effort from this vintage, which produced a number of deceptively thin, light wines from the Pessac-Leognan and Graves regions. The wine displays an herb-tinged, citrusy, smoky nose, woody, medium-bodied flavors with good concentration, and fat and sweetness from a good glycerin level in the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2010. Last tasted 3/97

This is a terrific example from this estate that usually makes one of the best white wines of Graves. The citrusy, honeyed, smoky nose soars from the glass. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with exquisite concentration, superb focus, and a fresh, long, rich, structured finish. This terrific Fieuzal should age well for 15+ years. Last tasted 3/97

Like many 1989 white Graves, de Fieuzal does not quite have the grip and delineation one expects because of the vintage's low acidity. Nevertheless, this has still turned out to be one of the most successful wines of the vintage. It is a rich, honeyed, smoky-scented wine with wonderfully ripe apple and melon-like flavors. Anticipated maturity: Now-2000. Last tasted, 3/93

robert_parker 1988

This beautiful example of white Graves displayed a full-intensity bouquet of honey, flowers, and smoky new oak. In the mouth, it has an opulence and richness that can only be the result of low yields and/or old vines. This is a wonderfully precise, rich, classic white Graves. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. To date, this is my favorite vintage of white de Fieuzal. It also marks the breakthrough when de Fieuzal began making white wines that rivaled the best of the region. It is still young in color, the bouquet has that wonderfully intense, honeyed, fig-, melon-, orange-, herb-, and oaky-scented nose. It is full bodied, rich, with substantial extract and length. This admirably endowed, beautifully balanced white Graves is quite sensational. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 7/97.
