The 2015 Meursault Clos des Grands Charrons, the one-hectare monopole at the same altitude as Meursault Perrières, has a more expressive and absorbing bouquet than the Limozins at the moment, a bit of vanillary oak that will need to be subsumed during the élevage. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry. There is good energy here, fine tension and though I did not discern the complexity on the finish exhibited by the 2014 that I tasted last year, this remains a fine proposition.

The 2014 Meursault Clos des Grands Charrons is a monopole that belongs to the estate and there are plans to do some selection massale from this parcel. The nose is very attractive -- nicely defined with chalk and limestone scents filtering through the citrus fruit, a touch of white peach in the background. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, tensile and vibrant with a shimmering, poised finish that is really very classy. This is a sophisticated white from Château de Meursault.
