The Ceretto 2019 Langhe Arneis Blangé tends to score in the same range vintage after vintage. It shows enormous consistency, and that is indeed the main selling point of this wine that, to be honest, has no problem selling out. First produced in 1985, it was created for immediate drinking, offering bright freshness with plenty of citrus, white peach and cut grass. The Blangé hits that sweet spot between drinkability and affordability, and it makes a great pairing with a fresh summer pasta with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. Some 80 hectares of Arneis fuel production for this popular wine.

This is Ceretto's bread-and-butter wine, with the production volume and the widespread popularity that is, to be frank, the envy of many. The 2017 Langhe Arneis Blangé opens to a light and transparent color with luminous brilliance. The bouquet is mild and simple with crisp citrus and honeydew melon. The wine is lively and very fresh—you get that little pinch of piquant acidity in the mouth.

The 2016 Langhe Arneis Blange' is one of those quintessential best buys from Italy. This is a fresh and moderately fragrant white wine made with the versatile Arneis grape. This easy-drinking expression offers pretty aromas of stone fruit and citrus followed by crushed mineral and brimstone. There is a pretty blast of freshness on the close that gives the wine a soothing touch of tangy crispness. You can't go wrong with a popular white like this on a hot summer evening in the garden.

The 2014 Langhe Arneis Blange' is not the most compelling expression of Arneis, but thankfully the more balanced 2015 vintage is right around the corner. This is an extremely popular white wine (a veritable best-seller in the wide world of Piedmont wines) with citrus, white peach and candied orange peel. Every time I taste this wine, I am reminded of Moscato thanks to that added touch of sweetness. This vintage even has a distant touch of fizziness to reinforce that vinous brotherhood of grapes.
