The 2019 Chablis Tête d'Or has a composed bouquet of yellow plum, crushed rock and light fumé scents that uncoil in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. The oak barrel underpins this Chablis but doesn't obscure the terroir expression, though I would still afford it 12–18 months in bottle.

The 2020 Chablis Tête d'Or derives only domaine fruit, and unlike the regular Chablis, it is aged a little longer with 25-30% barrels, mixed used and new with some 500-litre casks. It offers orchard fruit, touches of pressed white flowers on the nose and fine presence, but it's just missing a little personality. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, green apples with a touch of pear and a nice steely finish, albeit just missing a little length.

The 2021 Chablis Tête d'Or has a tightly-wound nose with touches of pressed flower and light fern/damp loamy scents percolating through with time. The palate is fresh on the entry with sour lemon and orange rind, quite strict and linear with a brisk, malic finish. Fine.

Produced from the domaine's holdings, the 2018 Chablis Tête d'Or exhibits notions of crisp golden orchard fruit, dried white flowers, peach and clear honey, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive palate that's deeper and more concentrated than the regular bottling.

Some tropical fruits and honey. A really ripe and richer style. The palate is soft, supple and simple. Drink-now style.

I love the lemon-blossom character of this very bright Chablis, which has a lovely balance of oyster-shell character, creaminess from sur-lie maturation and racy acidity. Long, chalky finish with enough energy to give this plenty of aging potential. Drink or hold.
