The last vintage that will appear under the old Boisson-Vadot label is the 2016 Meursault Les Chevalières, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, orange oil, iodine and toasted nuts. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, firm and chiseled, with a tensile spine of acidity and a chalky, mouthwatering finish.

The 2015 Meursault Les Chevalières is excellent, unfurling in the glass with aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, citrus oil, mint, pastry cream and a classy framing of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with chalky structuring dry extract, tangy acids and excellent length on the finish. From a parcel of vines between Fichet and Remi Jobard, this is a serious wine, built for the cellar.

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The 2011 Meursault Les Chevalières from Bernard Boisson-Vadot has a well-defined bouquet, yet there is a hint of SO2 shaving off some delineation. Still, underneath you can discern attractive scents of grilled walnut and spice that open nicely with aeration. The palate is taut and fresh, perhaps a little shrill for my liking, with green apple and bitter lemon on the rather punchy and lively finish.
