Rating: 87 –88

(from five parcels within the same small area not far from the calcareous Maranges La Fussière): Bright light-medium yellow with a green tinge. A touch of smoky reduction on the nose. Shows good calcaire-driven mineral energy but its hard edge calls for a racking. The flavors of yellow peach and mirabelle are complicated by a floral note. Offers inviting high tones, but will this wine loosen up? Here one can pick ripe and with high acidity, said Marc Bachelet. Potential alcohol was just 12.5% and the Bachelets didn't chaptalize, although Marc noted that they would have if the wine was a premier cru.

From a high-altitude parcel rich in active limestone, the 2019 Santenay Blanc reveals aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, layered and structured, with chalky grip and lively acids, it concludes with a saline finish.

Rating: 89 –91

The 2020 Santenay Blanc has a well-defined bouquet with freshly cut lime, Conference pear and light grassy scents percolating through with time. The palate is very well balanced, fresh and energetic, displaying a fine bead of acidity and a touch of spice toward the lively, satisfying finish. Great potential.

The 2017 Santenay Blanc exhibits notes of green apple, peach and subtle nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, chewy palate that's defined by tangy acids and abundant chalky dry extract. This hails from a parcel that touches La Fussière but with soils that contain less clay and more active limestone.
