vinous NV

Rating: 89 –89

The NV Brut 7 Crus is a rich, deep Champagne that very much reflects the intense, ripe personalities of the 2019 and 2018 vintages. Dried pear, spice, dried flowers and chamomile shows notable depth in this resonant, expansive Champagne. The 7 Crus is attractive, but the vintages speak more than the Agrapart house style in this release. As a reminder, the 7 Crus emerges from a collection of Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages, 70% and 30% respectively. This release is equal parts 2019 and 2018, bottled with six grams of dosage. Disgorged: July, 2022.

Rating: 90 –90

Agrapart"s Brut 7 Crus is a very pretty wine. Tropical accents add an exotic flair to the lemon confit, jasmine and passionfruit flavors that meld together in the glass. The 7 Crus is beautifully done, and also a terrific introduction to this range. A softer, more open-knit personality relative to the top wines means the 7 Crus can be enjoyed upon release. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: May, 2021.

The NV Brut 7 Crus is an attractive, easygoing wine that will drink well upon release. A touch of Pinot softens the edges nicely, giving this Chardonnay-base Champagne tons of accessibility. Lemon confit, chamomile, mint and white pepper all open in the glass, but it is the wine's textural feel that makes the 7 Crus so rewarding to taste and drink today. This release is equal parts 2017 and 2016, from parcels in Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil. About 25% of the wine was done in neutral oak, the rest in cask. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: April, 2020.

The NV 7 Crus is bright, precise and sculpted, as all of Agrapart Champagnes are. A dollop of Pinot Noir adds richness, but the 7 Crus is now very much in line stylistically with the other wines in the range, which was not the case when this cuvée was first introduced. Citrus, floral and almond notes all resonate in a Champagne that combines Côte des Blanc Chardonnay energy with an extra kick of texture from the Pinot that really comes through on the finish. This release is a blend of equal parts 2016 and 2015 from the villages of Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil. Dosage: 7 gr/L. Disgorged: May, 2019.

Agrapart's NV Brut 7 Crus is simply gorgeous. Rich, creamy and inviting, the 7 Crus hits all the right notes. The 7 Crus doesn't quite have the focus or energy of the top wines here, but it is incredibly delicious, approachable and relatively easy to find. This may very well be the finest release of the 7 Crus I have ever tasted since this cuvée debuted a few years ago. The 7 Crus is 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir. This release is equal parts 2015 and 2014. Don't miss it! Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: May 2018.

Agrapart's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus 1er Cru is surprisingly open in this release, most likely a reflection of the 50% 2015 juice in the blend. Resonant, expressive and giving, the 7 Crus will be very easy to drink young. Lemon peel, flowers and chamomile flesh out in the glass, but it is the wine's ripe personality and suppleness that stand out most. What a pretty wine this is. I don't remember the 7 Crus ever being this radiant, even after the 10% Pinot was added to the blend a few years ago. Disgorged: June 2017. Dosage is 7 grams per liter.

Rating: 92 –92

The NV Brut 7 Crus 1er Cru is a powerful, intense wine. This is an especially vinous style for Agrapart, but it all works nicely. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint and white pepper give the 7 Crus its decidedly pointed, vibrant personality, while a dollop of Pinot Noir (10%) adds weight through the mid-palate and into the finish. The 7 Crus is a terrific introduction to the Agrapart house style. Did I mention it is also absolutely delicious? The current release is a blend of equal parts 2014 and 2013, done partly in oak and partly in tank. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: March 2016.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru 7 Crus is a lovely, introductory-level Champagne from Agrapart. Bright and focused, but also with more than enough mid-palate richness to be accessible upon release, the 7 Crus is super-expressive today. The inclusion of 10% Pinot Noir a few years back has changed the 7 Crus in a meaningful way in making the wine more accessible in its youth. The creamy, spiced finish is hugely appealing, but there is a lot to like here, including the wine's overall balance. This release is a blend of equal parts 2013 and 2012. The seven villages in the blend are Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil. Dosage is 7 grams/liter. Disgorged: June 2015.

Agrapart's NV 7 Crus is surprisingly open for a young Agrapart Champagne, a change that has taken place recently with the addition of 10% Pinot Noir to a wine that was previously 100% Chardonnay. Lightly honeyed and floral notes meld into apricot pit, spice and mint nuances on the creamy, expressive finish. This release is equal parts 2011 and 2010 vintages, 70% from Grand Cru villages. Disgorged May 2013. Dosage is 7 grams per liter.

Agrapart's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru 7 Crus is quite powerful and intense in this release. The addition of 10% Pinot Noir now gives the 7 Crus a baritone depth this wine has previously not had, in a sense moving it away slightly from the trademark Agrapart style. This release is equal parts 2010 and 2009, from Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil, which equates to roughly 70% Grand Cru and 30% Premier Cru. Dosage was 7 grams per liter. This bottle was disgorged on July 2013.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus is a Champagne of pure texture. The combination of vintages 2009 and 2008, here in equal parts, works beautifully. Dried pears and white flowers are some of the notes that appear in the glass, but ultimately, the 7 Crus is all about softness. As the name implies, the 7 Crus is made from seven sites, mostly from younger vines and juice taken from the end of the press. This release is equal parts 2009 and 2008 vintages, bottled with 7 grams of dosage. Disgorged February 2013.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus is beautiful, wiry and bursting with pure energy. Lemon, mint, white flowers and crushed rocks jump from the glass in a vibrant, crystalline Champagne endowed with striking purity. The style is all about focus and tension. In other words, this is pure Agrapart. In this release, the 7 Crus is a blend of equal parts 2009 and 2008, two completely different vintages that could not be more opposite and complementary. The 7 Crus is a blend of 70% Grand Cru fruit (from Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant and Avenay), and 30% Premier Cru fruit (from Val d'Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil). It is a great introduction to the wines of this small, family-run domaine. Dosage was 7 grams per liter. Disgorged December 2012.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus shows lively freshness and in its lemon, spices and flowers. This mid-weight, focused Champagne is all elegance and class. I especially like the cut and pure vibrancy of the finish. The 7 Crus is a fabulous introduction to the Agrapart house style. This version is 50% 2007 and 50% 2008 juice, and it is the younger vintage that truly seems to drive the wine's personality. As the name suggest, the 7 Crus is made from seven villages: Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d'Or, Bergères les Vertus & Mardeuil (70% Grand Cru, 30% Premier Cru). Dosage was 7 grams per liter. Disgorged July, 2011.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus is absolutely beautiful. This is a touch darker than past releases, with hints of hazelnut and spice that add baritone-like layers of complexity to the fruit. The current release is 50% 2006 and 50% 2007. Roughly 25% of the wine was aged in neutral oak barrels, and dosage was 9 grams per liter. The 7 Crus is made from vineyards in Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d'Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil, which translates into 70% Grand Cru and 30% Premier Cru fruit. Disgorged: June, 2010.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus opens with knockout aromas of smoke and minerals. Elegant and refined on the palate, the 7 Crus offers terrific length and fine overall balance in a signature expression of Chardonnay. This year's release is 100% Chardonnay, equal parts 2005 and 2006 vintages. Roughly 25% of the 2005 juice was aged in large neutral oak. As the name implies, the 7 Crus is made from vineyards in the villages of Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d'Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil. This bottle was disgorged in June, 2009 with dosage of 9 grams per liter. The 7 Crus makes a great introduction to the Agrapart house style.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Les 7 Crus is 100% Chardonnay, equal parts 2005 and 2004 juice from vineyards in the villages of Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d'Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil, all of which in the Côte de Blancs. The wine was aged in medium-sized neutral oak and bottled with 10 grams of dosage. This is a fresh, dynamic Champagne with gorgeous aromatics and layers of crisp apples, pears, spices and flowers. The wine turns weightier in the glass, yet it remains medium-bodied, beautifully balanced Champagne that is best enjoyed over the next few years. This bottle was disgorged in August 2008.

Pale gold. Intense, incisive aromas of candied citrus fruits, white flowers, spices and minerals, with gentle smokiness and a hint of anise. Juicy and precise on the palate, offering very good depth to its tangy lemon, orange and green apple flavors. Shows impressive power on the long, zesty finish but carries no excess weight. I really like this Champagne's tension and focus. This year's bottling does not indicate Blanc de Blancs but it is 100% chardonnay.

(L01) Light gold. Honeyed apple, pear and lemon drop aromas are complemented by subtle minerality. Medium-bodied, firm and dry, with good heft to the ripe citrus and apple flavors. Finishes with a subtle hint of bitter citrus peel and good length.

(lot #01 on the label) Very pale, silver-straw color. Fresh and crisp on the nose, showing bright citrus and fresh butter aromas enlivened by a salty, mineral tang. Medium in weight, with a supple, silky mouth feel and gentle citrus flavors, especially orange and tangerine. This has sneaky finishing flavors of soft citrus fruits. Offers an enticing combination of supple texture and understated but crisp flavor. .
